HERKY CUTLER
My music has many faces - Rock; Blues; Country; Folk; Celtic and Latin. It speaks about who I am, what I believe in and the things that make me laugh.

I have been influenced by many artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, and Bonnie Raitt, as well as many independent artists I have heard over the years. These musicians have inspired me and keep my personal songwriting candles burning.

I truly love my audiences and I strive to engage them and touch them in a fundamental way with my performances. I want them to walk away with the feeling that they have had a good time and have truly been entertained.

My performances are very much about an emotional attachment to my audience. Otherwise, a musician might just as well be entertaining himself at home in his studio. And while I love my studio very much, it is not the same as a live engagement. Performance is not a singular thing - it is an all encompassing social occasion for everyone involved in the event. An audience provides me with energy.

So, in an evening of performance my purpose is to touch you, inspire you, laugh with you and encompass us all in a great time.

A variety of percussion instruments accompany me to my gigs and the purpose of those is to invite my audience to be my 'back-up' band. And it is always amazing to see the enjoyment achieved by the rhythmic involvement of everyone, young and old alike. I have done this repeatedly since the start of my performing career, and it appears to be catching on.
